We decided to take a nice two
day trip down south for a late
summer ride. We went down
to Lake City and Creede and then
to South Fork, Pagosa Springs,
Durango, Silverton, Ouray
and then home.
Dave L. I hope he is just going for
his wallet to pay for the overpriced
gas at this place.
We are going to Blue Mesa Lake before
dropping south to Lake City.
After getting to Blue Mesa Lake,
we head down south.
we head down south.
Just outside of Lake City, we took in a
little history.
Kind of creepy!!!
All of that talk about eating has made
me hungry.
Hey, when in Rome... LOL
Hey, when in Rome... LOL
Taking in the views.
Me and Dave L.
And wow!!! what views they are.
Cruisin' some corners.
We will definitely be doing this
trip again.
Coming down off Antelope Mountain to
Creede
Remnants of days past.
Cool old place in Creede
Down town Creede
We booked reservations in South Fork
for the night.
Cary was told that they would have to
wait for their key because the owner
had to fix a bullet hole in the window.
(The owners idea of fixing the window was postage tape)
LOL
Dave headed out to the hot tub to kick
back, sporting this season's new look in
biker pool wear.
The old,, and I mean old hot tub was back across the gravel
The old,, and I mean old hot tub was back across the gravel
and weeds, so you had to wear your boots to get to it.
Ahhh, the sun is coming up and there is
a frost on the bike. Looks like its going to be
a great day.
The road up the pass was very shady
in the morning, so we pulled over
to put on some warm gear.
Cary messing with Ray LOL
I don't think she is buying it...
Couldn't pass up the picture while
we were stopped.
Cary and Ray and a beautiful overlook.
This was a cool tree growing on a
rocky ledge.
After breakfast in Pagosa Springs,
we cruised on through Durango. It was
very busy and traffic was heavy.
We did several passes this trip.
Red Mountain Pass.
Cary, Ray, Dave and myself.
The Ouray Hot Springs were packed so we
just kept on riding and enjoying the day.
Cary and Ray headed out front
Mt. Garfield means that we are close to
Grand Junction and almost home.

Thanks Cary, Ray and Dave for coming
along on this ride. A good trip is always
a good time but one with friends is
even better.
