Weather Smeather,
Let's Go Anyway!!!
Even though the weather was looking crappy,
and it was only 38`, David L, Steve & Liz, Zeke &
Rewa, andmyself decided to head out anyway.
We didn't even make it to Rio Blanco hill, and
we hit a very nasty patch of high wind
with rain,
We pulled over at the top of the pass, and
with the weather not looking any better
Steve & Liz Decided to head back to the
barn.
And then there were four, David L, Zeke &
Rewa, and myself, Determined not to let a little
bad weather ruin our trip, we moved on
After the rain and winds give up, the weather
turned nice, and things were looking up...
after making a quick pit stop for a cup of
warmth, in Rangely we took out for Dinosaur.
The small town of Dinosaur, they use the
dinosaur theme everywhere...
Because of the weather, we were running a little
behind schedule, so we decided to just head back
to Rangely and have lunch, and then take the
Douglas Divide loop Back to Grand Junction.
You don't see many of these still in use in
Colorado.
Coming back into Rangely, the weather over
the pass is looking nice, I hope it looks that
good after lunch.

We had a bite to eat, and a good visit at Betsy's Cafe,
and with full belly's checked out.
Well, you know what they say about the weather
in Colorado, it can change every five minutes,
and it looks like it isn't going to be any different
today...
See, what did I tell you, within minutes we are
back to the sunshine, Zeke & Rewa decide to
take the lead, and on over Douglas Divide we go
The winds on the top of the pass were really
bad, so we waited until we got off of the
back side for a for a stop.
Coming into Mack Colorado.
Going through Grand Junction, CO
With a quick stop in Palisade for fuel we headed
out, hoping to beat the clouds hanging over the
canyon. After leaving Zeke & Rewa at
Debeque, Dave and I kept moving on, still trying not to get wet.
With the days of winter rolling in,
sometimes it's worth the risk to
keep on riding,
and I'm glad we did, because it
turned out to be yet another
ride for the books...

It's also nice to know, that I'm not
the only crazy one in the group.
